The Antaara Dream Project is dedicated to the elimination of cervical cancer, aligning with the WHO 90-70-90 targets. It focuses on preventing cervical cancer by raising awareness that Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the primary causative factor of the disease. Through extensive HPV awareness initiatives and community outreach programs, the project aims to educate women and communities about the importance of early detection. It emphasizes the critical role of HPV testing and vaccination in preventing cervical cancer. Additionally, the project provides counselling, guidance, and appropriate referral for further management of women identified with HPV infection, ensuring timely care and support for better health outcomes.
The aim is to create community awareness about HPV infection as a major cause of various cancers in both men and women, while motivating and facilitating HPV testing among eligible women for the prevention and early detection of cervical cancer. The initiative seeks to screen 100,000 women in Ahmedabad through structured outreach programs and to implement as well as analyse HPV DNA testing using self-test kits and clinically assisted self-sampling methods, with a special focus on reaching underserved and hard-to-reach populations.
